Instructions for baking:
Preheat oven to: Married and in LOVE!
Bake at 98.6 degrees for 38-42 weeks as determined by the bun’s preference.
Bun removes itself from the oven when good and ready, but this one should be done by late May.
If further instructions are needed, please Google “Nothin says lovin like a bun in the oven!”
So..I had one of those days that was just sorta blah! Woke up late, work didn't go quite the way I had envisioned, and Mike is at the Depot (as in Home Depot) until 10:30 tonight. I knew on my drive home I was in serious need of some "detox" time. What better way to spend your Friday evening than sprawled out on the coach eating Doritos, Pepsi, brownies, and cheese curds while watching a 'Say Yes to the Dress' marathon (don't judge me ;0). After about 2 hours of seeing lovely ladies try on and find gorgeous wedding gowns and gradually realizing I was in sort of a trance, I made a very self-esteem boosting decision-I would try on every ball-gowny dress in my possession (I was pretty sure they'd fit). Anyways, after about 4 dresses, multiple twirls and curtsies, wishes that someone would randomly drop by, and almost driving up to my mom's house to try on my wedding dress, I felt sufficiently good-my bucket had been filled-and I'd received just enough girl for at least the next couple of months.
You do know that you'd feel the same way too, especially if you had played out this scene exactly like me. Go ahead...make your own day....
Once upon a time there was a girl named Ashley who had a blog. When she started her blog, she had visions of the sugar plum variety. She thought she'd write about all the uber exciting events of her life. People would laugh, cry, and beg her to write more.
Well..over a year went by, and Ashley realized she basically would just post pictures of her "seemingly adventurous life." She'd try to write blogs about things she was feeling, but just couldn't come up with the words. She thought, "Wait a minute, I swear I know how to write. Haven't I kept a journal for years, didn't I write amusing letters to many a missionary, and don't I teach writing to children!?"
SO...here I am. My memory card is broken on my camera, so I can't post any pictures of my recent shennanigans. I'm no good at this writing bit, for some reason my brain doesn't work when I see the Blogger icon. This is as good as it gets...feel free to gag a little bit!
I found this on my sister-in-law's sister's blog. It is so funny. This is Mike and I at least once a week. I figure you all can relate.

I've had a lot of people ask what I, as a school teacher, do with my summers off from work. Admittedly, my first week of summer vacation has been a lot of staying home in bed (at least until 10 am)but in the summer I like/have to play catch up with all the things I've been neglecting for the past 10 school months.
Take a look at some of the goals, projects, social outings, and, yes, school things I have planned for this summer...
1. Cook a meal 5 days of week. I've never really liked to cook or bake (poor Mike- he gets the chip meal diet far too often) so I'm going to choose one recipe I have never made for one day of the week. This week it's cayenne-rubbed chicken with avocado salsa!
2. Clean (not just hide and straighten) and organize all the rooms of my house. Ryan (my bro.) got me kick-started with my kitchen. Thanks Ry, when do you see a single guy helping out his younger sister with such a menial chore?
3. Paint the family and dining room. It's time for a little color! I also want to put up some vinyl.
4. Continue to work out 5 days a week. I've been slacking since my 1/2 marathon. I want to try to go on a hike for one of those days a week (I did it last summer, but Carrie Welch has inspired me for this year as well.)
5. Make chair pockets for my classroom- my old ones kicked the bucket.
6. Level all my reading books.
7. Finish my at-home baggie books for homework next year.
8. Re-organize my classroom--I'm getting a little bored.
9. Get started on all the beginning of the year school stuff- I don't like to leave it all to August.
10. Take the PRAXIS II (big test that deals with teaching methods and philosphies). I need to pass so my teaching license will be renewed.
11.Go to Core Academy--cool week long teaching class that gives lots of ideas, supplies, and credit for relicensure as well.
12. Visit and play with friends I haven't seen all year.
13. Go on trips including four-wheeling, camping, etc.
14. Encourage Mike to do his homework- I don't know why anyone takes summer courses.
15. Put up and can our extra harvest from our garden. I know salsa and tomato juice will be on the agenda.
16. Spend loads of time with my family, especially nieces and nephews!
17. Have fun!!!
That's a really long list! I hope I don't blow it!
Mike and I got started on this list last week with two little trips. The first was over his birthday(June 5th--the big 24). We went down to St. George with Ryan Head, his wife Jessica, Justin Head, and his friend Heather. We did a lot of hiking and relaxing.
Later that week, we went for a camping overnighter up by North Fork with our friends, Trudy, Dirk, and Dylan Gardner. We were a little worried about all that rain, but from the moment we got there to the moment we left it didn't rain at all. Pretty lucky considering we didn't feel like we could cancel because Trudy is 8 1/2 months pregnant. Tyler Seal and his girlfriend, Becca came up for dinner one night too. Our camera died our last day of our vacation. Here's what we captured before it went on the fritz. We didn't get a chance to take any pictures of Natural Bridges. It was fun to take it slow, be with Libby and Abby, and just see some things I hadn't seen since I was 5-years-old.
We visited Hovenweep, a canyon of Pueblo ruins, today! For spring break, my family (mom, dad, mike, ryan, libby, and abby)we are doing a marathon weekend of hiking in Colorado and the bottom east corner of Utah. We took Blake and Erika's girls after visiting the baby this morning. We're having fun- more to come.

I've always wanted to buy someone one of those fruit bouquets. Since it was my mom's birthday, I thought "this is perfect--I'll just hop over to Layton and get one." Too bad--too sad. It was CLOSED at noon on a Saturday. I was ready to give up, but my incredibly persuasive brother, Ryan, convinced me to explore my hidden fruit bouqueting talents. Here's the result (with Ryan's help of course).
Mike surprised me with an exciting and non-typical date night last Friday. We went to Speed Street Go Kart Racing in Layton. Basically you get in these gas-powered go karts, and race 35 laps. We had so much fun! Here's our race results... SHCCS (that's my race name- Sweetheart Cupcake Star) finished first with an average lap of 27.89, my fastest lap was 26.22, and I had an average MPH of 18.34. Michael HD (he said it stands for "high definition" but I'm pretty sure that it's just Head) finished 2nd, had an average lap of 27.91, his fastest lap was 26.32, and his average MPH was 18.32. If anyone's running totals, please notice that I WON every category. Mike said he was being nice and letting me pass, but we all know the truth..."Girls rule and boys drool!" Needless to say, I guess Mike was a "winner" because he planned this awesome date!
